Yoga and Relaxation Techniques for Secondary School students -Years 10-13.
A 2 hour afternoon session for you to learn simple and effective yoga and relaxation techniques to help you keep calm and focused and perform your best during the challenging study phase of GCSEs and A Level.
We all know Year 10-13 can feel like an endless stress treadmill. There are tried and tested ways to deal with those spikes in anxiety and stress.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- To understand the stress response in the body and mind and what to do about it.
- Easy to use tools for staying cool and calm in exams and in the revision period.
- A simple yoga sequence (with video and sequence handout to take home)
- A guided relaxation to practice (with a recording to use at home when you need!)
The session will be relaxed and friendly. You can take part your own pace and will not be put on the spot! You don’t need any yoga experience, it will be easy to do and follow. You only do as much as you like and there will be rest options for everything. This is about finding movements and techniques that work for you. Sometimes they take some practice and getting used to, but even in this one session you will feel how they work. It is all really logical.
I will be facilitating the yoga. I have teamed up with Emily Gajewski who is an experienced therapist and a mum also based in Hassocks (and one of my yoga students), who will be facilitating the stress management part.
You can find more info on Emily here:
Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one (but not necessary).
